The elm cluster in sterling silver, on a 23" rustic deerhide cord with sterling silver hardware. To shorten, simply tie knots in the leather near the snaps until you reach your desired length.

Elms, trees in the genus Ulmus, are a true holarctic tree, ranging across the northern hemisphere globally. The American elm is a true North American icon, often reaching staggering heights when left to grow in peace in the center of a large New England field, which they often are.

These leaves specifically are from a truly stunning example of a large lacebark elm, in fact the largest I have yet seen. The lacebark elm is a eurasian species, and while nonnative to the Americas, it is not an invasive, and limits itself to growing where it has been intentionally cultivated. This shapely tree with it's perfectly sized leaves, shades a large area in my mother's garden, has made itself at home and a valued member of the family.
