Freshwater River Pearl with 14k gold bail
A jaw-dropping, highly metallic Kasumi-like Yiwu River pearl, with a solid 14k gold post and bail, on an 18” sterling silver chain.
This is one of the highest quality pearls I have had the pleasure of handling, with a great deal of character and unique texture. The colors vary depending on the lighting and the angle, and may appear to be anywhere from peachy pink to gold in color, with a hint of sky blue near the gold.
Tissue nucleated, from Hyriopsis hybrid mussels.
Pearls are the only 100% renewable gemstone, and have historically been a critical element in wetland and watershed restoration in areas where pearls are farmed. Pearl mussels need clean water and healthy ecosystems to thrive, and in this way drive local economies into fortifying their local watersheds. For this reason especially I am especially interested in working with them.
